Too Damn Old

Too Damn Old

I am too damn old
To feel this unsure
Wondering what to do
What I want.

I am too damn old
To ask so many questions
Especially of those so young
And so beautiful.

I am too damn old
To be so afraid.
Worried about fitting in
Or standing out.

I am too damn old
To wear short skirts
And High heels.
I don't want to try too hard.

I am too damn old
To feel longing,
Or desire
For affection or lust.

I am too damn old
To learn new tricks
Play new games
Same old should be enough.

I am too damn old
To be deeply kissed,
Teased or touched.
Says everything I see.

Until one day...
My vision clears;
I realize the truth.

I am too damn old
To ignore what calls me
The things that might scare,
Energize or excite me.

I am too damn old
To waste chances,
Time
Or love.

I am too damn old
Not to celebrate
With joyful abandon.
Loving deeply and fully.

I am too damn old
Not to explore playfully
Feel passionately, or embrace
Newly discovered pleasures.

I am too damn old
To be limited,
Innocent or naive.
Why can’t I try more?

I am too damn old,
Not to feel so damn good.
Love as such pleasure,
How did I miss this?

I am too damn old,
To hold off any longer.
My heart pounds mightily,
My flesh longs for more.

I am too damn old,
To waste more time.
Bring it on, world.
I gotta act quick.

I am too damn old..
To wait.
